Both have extremely high standards. The RAD’s Patron is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The RAD’s President is Dame Darcey Bussell, DBE, one of the most famous ballerinas of her generation.
What is the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance (ISTD)?
The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards with the widest range of dance genres available. The ISTD is internationally recognised for dance training and examinations. Both have extremely high standards. One of the ISTD Patrons is Oti Mabuse.
What is the United Dance Organisation (UDO)?
UDO is the UK’s first accredited street dance syllabus.
The UDO Street Dance Syllabus introduces the techniques and foundations in all styles of street dance, allowing dancers from the age of 3 to learn a comprehensive range of skills as they work their way through the grades and sit examinations.
What’s is Acrobatic Arts (Acro)?
Acrobatic Arts is a beautiful fusion of classical dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro dancers learn how to seamlessly blend musicality, emotional expression, line and extension with acrobatic movements in a dance context. Dancers are able to participate in examinations with Acrobatic Arts Certified teachers only.
At Moray Dance all our dancers will be given the chance, when ready, to take examinations. Examinations are vitally important, they give the dancers something to work towards and are a guideline for how each dancer is improving. Confidence is achieved by being capable of moving from level to level. Also accurate training and technique enables a dancer to move on to full-time dance training if appropriate.
