Sheryl’s passion is dance – whether it be performing, teaching, or choreographing.

Having grown up in the Speyside village of Rothes, Sheryl showed a talent and love for dancing taking classes at the age of 3 in Highland Dancing.

Over time Sheryl started adding more genres into the mix such as, Majorettes, Pom, Ballet, Disco and Street Dance.

Sheryl was successful in several RAD and UKA exams, as well as taking part in Shows & local performances.

Sheryl started Line Dancing classes with her Aunty. Sheryl would enter Choreography  Competitions, and would do really well, so much so, she was crowned Champion Line Dance Choreographer.

As she grew so did her love for dance and at the age of 14 Sheryl studied a Youth Dance Leader in the Community Qualification.

Sheryl was thrilled at aged 17 to be accepted to study at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance (The Space) in Dundee, starting with an NQ in Dance Performance.

Working under the stewardship of some of the country’s finest instructors led by Peter Royston. Sheryl studied many dance forms including Jazz, Street, Commercial, Capoeira, Ballet and several contemporary dance techniques.

Sheryl then continued on to achieve a HND in Contemporary Dance, focussing on Contemporary and Ballet.

At night Sheryl would attend local dance schools for Street & Commercial Dance.

At this time, Sheryl also began teaching for Showcase The Street.

Sheryl then spent time working in Glasgow with YDance for the Commonwealth Youth Dance Festival .

As an aspiring performer and choreographer Sheryl has worked with many dance companies including SmallPetitKlein, Janis Claxton Dance, Errol White Company, Scottish Dance Theatre, and Scottish Ballet among others.

After moving home in 2012, Sheryl taught classes for Showcase The Street in Elgin, Forres & Lossiemouth. She also started teaching at Moray Dance, as well as taking part in classes herself, particularly Jazz and RAD Ballet.

In 2015 Sheryl established her own Dance Company, ‘Dance Fusion’, which runs from her home town in Rothes.

Sheryl has continued to expand her knowledge with qualifications in UDO Street Dance, StreetFit, I-path and Radar Technique.

In 2020, Sheryl had her baby girl, Gianna, who now dances with Miss Hollie at Moray Dance.

Moray Dance thanks Sheryl for her continued drive, devotion and love for dance.
